ENGINE NUMBER

Along with the VIN number, the engine block is stamped with an engine production code. The code has a prefix series of letters and number that identifies the engine and year, then a four digit numberic production sequence. The production code is stamped on the right front of the engine block opposite the VIN number. When viewed from the front of the engine, the number is upside down.
