    263 rod bearings

I am looking for a set of .010 undersized connecting rod bearing inserts for 1952 263 straight eight. A fellow at Kanters told me that Plymouth 273-318 cid motors from late 60’s used the same specs and are readily available. Can anyone verify that info? Thanks!

    263 Manifolds

Here is a picture of my 263 project engine I have been working on for a few years. These are my home made intake and exhaust manifolds. Std 4 barrel intake mount and turbo charged exhaust. Just ordered a set of J&E forged pistons to go inside.

Pontiac HEI to fit 263 motor.

I have seen several posts talking about adapting a Pontiac HEI distributor to the 263 motor but never much for details. Does anybody have a little more details on doing that? What model Pontiac works and what needs to be done exactly? I don't have an original distributor and the HEI sounds like...

263 hydraulic to solid lifter conversion.

What does it take to convert a hyd lifter engine to solid lifters? Lifters & pushrods? Do I need to change rocker arms as well? I am going to have the cam reground. Does the grind need to change? Thanks!

    J&E forged pistons for 263

I have been following the 263 rebuild series on You Tube Hagerty Redline Rebuild. They had J&E pistons made for this motor. A more modern forged higher compression 3-ring style piston. I would like to use them in my rebuild. I have emailed J&E a couple of times and no response. Has anybody...

    263 engine questions

I am taking my 263 apart. This car had auto trans so it has hydraulic lifters. The pushrods are hollow to feed the lifters. Do the solid lifter cars have solid pushrods? Also these rocker arm adjusting screws are drilled to oil the pushrods. Are the adjusting screws different for solid lifters...

    Electric water pump on 263

I am building a one off 263 engine for a rat rod. I want to hop it up a little as well as turbocharge it. I have always heard the straight eights had a problem with cooling on the rear cylinders and burning pistons. I am contemplating using an electric water pump with 2 discharge ports. I would...

    Hyd vs solid lifters

I’m building a 263 engine from a 1952 Special with the Dynaflow. It has hydraulic lifters. Can I change to solid lifters with just pushrods and lifters? What about the cam? If it is different can a cam regrinder change to solid lifter grind? Thanks!

    263 straight eight pistons

Is there anybody selling forged pistons for 263 engine that don't have to custom made? I am wanting to turbocharge one and regular stock pistons might be a little light. Any experience with that observation? Thanks

    Straight eight 263 pistons

I am building a 263 straight 8 for a street rod project. I want to build my own intake manifold & put a turbocharger on it. Not looking for a lot of boost just for something different. I am boring it out with new pistons. A few local guys tell me any new aftermarket pistons won't take it. Does...
