The repair manual states that Type A trans fluid is necessary in the dynaflow trans. The fluid in the trans appears brown but the type A fluid I have is pink. Are they compatable or is there something out there that I should be buying. I appreciate any advice that comes my way.

The fluid in your tranny is brown because it is burnt and or has picked up dirt particles. Do yourself a favour and drain the old and pour in some new fluid. Not having to rebuild a Dynaflow will be the reward...

Type A became Dexron, which is now in "Dexron III" form.

You've still got TYPE A fluid, new in a can?

Man, I bet that stuff smells like fish!
