1966 BUICK RIVIERA GS POSITRACTI0N DIFFERENTIAL

Hi, i own a 1966 Buick Riviera GS, the differental is damaged, some teeth are in bad conditionon the ring gear and the drive shaft, an i want to replace all differential.
The differential ratio is 3.42, and axle shafts have 30 splines
I cannot find a new and complete differential. Can someone tell me where i could find one ? Thank you for your help, Bertrand.

Other than bearings & seals there is NO aftermarket support for them.
The ONLY thing you can do is find used sorry to say.

Bertrand- I will keep my eyes open for a differential for you.
Hard enough for us to find one here, but it will happen.
Is the Riviera roadworthy or is it broken down?
How is the engine- still the MR now with Quadrajet?
Regards,
Ted

Hi, thank you for your reply, the Riviera is in good codition, many parts have been changed to new, the engine and the TH400 are not the orinal one.
The engine is still the MR with the right Quadrajet for the year .I could not identify the trans because there is no more tag attached to it, on the other hand the oil filter of the trans is not of the type which was fitted in 1966, but the trans has the two-blades socket for models fitted with the switch pitch.
The engine works but there is a loss of compression on two cylinders, which will lead us to open it, which will allow us to check its displacement..

Regarding the rear axle, I read an article on the web about the B-O-P rear axles and what surprised me is that they are planned for 28 splines axle shafts , but .axle shafts on my Riviera have 30 splines !

According to the answer that was given to me here, there are no parts in aftermarket, (ring gear and pinion gear, is this also true for the positractuion unit?

were the Riviera the only models to be equipped with these differentials?
Thank you for all of your help, Bertrand.
