58 Super 364 cid heater (drain hose ?) leaking

what looks like a 1/4" id hose approx. 6" long leading from bottom of in dash heater under the car starts to drip anti-freeze at a slow but steady rate on to the ground after car warms up, stops after engine shut down and cool down . Hose looks like it could be an overflow or drain hose. what is this hose, where does it come from and what needs to be done to stop leak?

Any suggestions?

drain hose.

Bob, sounds like the heater core has sprung a leak. The hose is most likely the drain for the AC condensation to drain thru. It is draining a "pan" beneath the AC evaporator and heater core. Quickest way to stop it is to simply block off the coolant from the engine that goes thru the heater. Permanent repair will require removing the heater core and repair/replacing .

Heater core

Best get a genuine 1958 Buick Shop Manual. They are available on line.

Someone may come on here with advice. A little new for me.:D. If not
There is a good '58 presence on AACA org. Scroll down to the Buick forums.

Good luck.
