I have a 65 gs conv, with appr. 166,000 miles. It runs and drives great. I have oil seeping from between the head and block, on the front of the engine. What would cause this? I do have some blowby, could this be the problem? Thanks for your help,
Ken

Ken,

Yes it can. I had a similar problem with a 455. The oil would lay on top of the head gasket where it is a little wider than the hole in the head at the return hole to the block. The pressure in the crankcase would push the oil out from under the head and down the front of the block.

Thanks DR.,I think your right. The #1 cylinder has the worst blowby and that's the side that has the worse leak. I'm also suspicious of the front cover having a leak and the fan might be blowing oil across that area also. thanks again,
Ken
