Breather tube

I have a 68 Skylark Custom 2 dr Coupe. It has a 350 2BBL. Does anyone know where I can get a valve cover to air cleaner breather element hose? I see that the 4BBL hose is available but is different.

I suspect that the two barrel tube will not be a common item. Probably the only hope you will have of finding one will be a "new old stock", which will be very pricey, or a serviceable used one. I checked out a two barrel car I have, but the tube is missing.
It could be an opportune time to consider a 4bbl conversion...

Thanks for responding,. This car is completely original and changing to a 4 BBL is a pretty big diversion, especially since it can be determined to be altered by the identification numbers. I did do that on a convertible car that I have however that was not so original. I'm looking into reproducing one or a suitable retrofit for now. Haven't been able to find a NOS yet. Any help appreciated

I wonder if a 3D printer would be an option? I don't know anything about them, but they seem to be developing a lot!

my company does some 3D printing. This is a rubber hose. I've never seen a 3D printer that makes flexible stuff but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

The needed breather tube is GM part no 1383965. It was used only on the '68 Buick 350 engine w/2bbl carb. Nothing turned up for now by searching by the part number. Searching in yards for '68 LeSabres as well as A-body cars might turn up a used part for a pattern.

One workaround would be moving the breather element in the air cleaner from 11 o'clock position to 9 o'clock position. This should permit using the available reproduction tube no 1383358. Of course it results in a non-original air cleaner bowl.

The 1383358 tube was used on all '68-69 Buick 350-400-430 4bbl and the '69 350 2bbl. Another possibility is to install a '69 350 2bbl air cleaner that is already set up for the 1383558 tube (however can't confirm the '69 cleaner is otherwise identical to the '68).

These are just some random thoughts that maybe will work out a solution.

Great input Todd,

I have a couple real good examples of the 1383965 but they are all split or broken. The 69 air cleaner sounds like it might be a good option. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Don't forget that Jeep J Trucks used the Buick 350 2bbl in that era, and there are likely members of Jeep forums that have some parts. I have a 350 but no extra parts yet as I've only had it for six months. I just removed the heads and had the valves done. Put the intake back on last weekend. Joined this forum to get more info on the vacuum hose routing.

The way things ended up for now is that I had 2 broken tubes. One broken at one end the other split at the opposite end. I cut both tubes in the middle and used a coupling that was barbed on both ends. You can hardly see the coupling and the tube looks factory. I have this on my list of things to look into fabricating in the future.
