Hello,
I have a very bad situation that has just developed in my newly rebuilt 1964 buick 300.
At first it ran great, and I thought I did a good job of breaking her in .
When I start it , it sounds like piston slap and maybe detonation.
As I raise the rpm all the clatter goes away until it gets to idle then it clatters real bad and quits.
Also seems to overheat real quick, I think I know what is wrong I am just scared to find out.
When I put it in gear it clatters very loudly and dies.
Timing is set at 4 degrees before tdc
can any one help.
Tom
