Cruise Control Won't lock

2001 Buick LeSabre - Cruise Control button on the sterring wheel won't lock for continual use, unless you hold it down. How to repair?
 
Probably have to replace the stalk. You can get one for around $25.00-$30.00 at the auto parts store if you want to do it yourself. Involves pulling the steering wheel and you'd better use a puller if you do that.
 
be careful you have an air bag in the steering wheel. You should unplug the yellow connector under the dash for the air bag. and static electricity can set it off so don't rub you feet on the carpet and grab the steering wheel. Don't mean to scare you but treat it like a bomb. I'm not sure how the air bag disconnects from the column but some can be tricky. Good Luck
