Can anyone tell me if the bolts [ 3/8 ] attaching the bracket to the block are special. Six of the eight are through holes and oil seeps back out around threads.

I would recommend grade 8 bolts with some #2 Permatex.

They also have a thread sealant. Comes in a white bottle made by Permatex. Spray brakleen while engine is warm. Let it dry throughly, apply sealant to threads & install & torque down.
