I tried starting my 1966 Riviera and while cranking everything went dead.
Is there a main fuse somewhere? Help!

Need help figuring out what the electrical problem is.

And make sure the connections to the battery terminals are clean and bolted tight.

If the lights won't come on check battery cables. If they are loose or dirty the load will break the connection. Usually you can turn on the headlights then wiggle each connection.

Thanks to all of you. The battery cables are secure and well grounded. I can't figure out from the wiring diagram how voltage gets to the fuse block and whether a main fuse is there. I was trying to start the engine when everything went dead.
There are two fusible links at the starter solenoid. If you blew one of them you had a direct short somewhere. A fusible link was smaller than the rest of the wiring so it would fail first and protect the main harness. 1967_Buick_Chassis_Service_Manual_-_Section_12C.pdf

It turned out to be an internally corroded battery cable. Thus, it couldn't carry any current.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the Battery Disconnect Switch. This type of switch transmits current through the threads when the knob is turned down to make contact. Apparently the former owner of the car did not tighten it securely and corrosion built up on the threads due to arcing,
