Need mount brackets

I wonder if you could help me... I’m looking for the mount brackets that hold the rope, which is on the backside of the front seat.
I’ve got an 1938 Special and I don’t know if there’s a difference between the models and the years.
Best regards
Stefan Peterson

Stefan,
Attached are some pages from the old Buick Master Parts Books which show the Robe Cord Escutcheon (Group 11.878). Buick used the part no 4082846 on many cars from 1938-52. The body style of your car will likely be included in the 1938 listings for this part. I could not find any sources for new reproduction pieces. Used ones may come up on eBay from time to time since the part was widely used.

Also attached is a page from the Fisher Body Service News pamphlet for the '51 Special body. It shows a picture and instructions for removal/installation of the escutcheon.

Chevrolet also used the same escutcheon on many cars from 1940-52. They used colored escutcheons on their '38 and '39 models. The ivory '38 is part no 4084997. The rose tan '39 part is no 4090221. As the colored parts were discontinued, the chrome 4082846 became the replacement in the parts books.

Luckily the color escutcheons are being reproduced in plastic. They should be interchangeable with the later chrome piece.
Here are a couple of sources:

Other GM cars probably used these same part numbers as well.

Thanks alot Todd!
I can start with the plastics untill I find the real ones.
It´s much better than the two holes in the backrest I´ve got now.
Greetings
Stefan

That sounds like an excellent plan. Unfortunately the site does not allow attachments to messages in the Buying and Selling forum. So mine did not appear here.

I will start a new thread on this topic in the Interiors forum so the attachments can be viewed. Good luck in the search for the chrome parts.

Stefan, I have one from a 1940 Super that you can have for the postage. The upholstery shop lost one and I bought a pair from a Roadmaster so I have one extra.
