Parting out 52 Roadmaster

Okay, very good. What is your price for the entire engine? I assume you could place this on a pallet for shipping purposes? Thanks Phil

I will starting getting a few shipping quotes then. What address is the shipper picking up from? What size will the pallet be ? 4'x5', 800lbs. I assume you have the 4 barrel air cleaner as well. I do not need the transmission unless it is a standard, my 48' is 3 on the tree

You can send me info by text 603-831-0301 if you do not want this to be public info. Thanks Phil

I will check on the air cleaner, it is a dynaflow, my zip code is 97759.
Thanks for checking on that air cleaner. For shipping purposes, what is the access for a truck? Residence I assume? Do you need a lift gate to get this onto the truck? Sorry for all the questions but the shipping companies will be asking me. Thanks Phil

You are aware the back of the crankshaft is different and will not hook up without mods!

IF I remember correctly a bushing has to be made to adapt the pilot bearing/bushing to the rear of the DynaFlow crank as the pilot hole is larger.
More difficullt IF your going from manual trans. to DynaFlow as the rear of the crank pilot hole has to be enlarged.
Just my thoughtss.

Phil, just spent some time with the 52 Roadmaster straight eight. The good stuff first. I stuck a steel rod down through the engine dip stick hole to the bottom of the pan and pulled it out. There was oil to the bottom of the steel rod. No water in the bottom of the oil pan. I removed randomly two spark plugs #2 and #6. Both are black, sooty from running no rust. I removed the oil fill cap on top of the valve cover and reached in with my fingers, I could touch two rocker arms, both were oily, no rust. The underside of the valve cover was smooth, no rust. I looked down I into the top of the head and valve springs they are all oily- no rust. I pulled the vibration damper off, hopping the engine had stopped in a position when the crankshaft balancers were out of the way and I could look into the bottom of the engine but the balance was in the way.

Now the bad stuff. I can not find the air cleaner in the car. The carburetor is complete but it is locked up. The carburetor exterior looks pretty good. There is seeds on the top of the choke plate. It appears the car was stored outside with the hood on so no rain water got into the open carburetor. The intake manifold under the carburetor appears to of had a piece about 4 inches wide by 1 ½ inches tall removed and then brazed back in. Appears to be a good repair. The exhaust manifold is a three piece affair. The center piece has a cast ring that fits over the end section and makes an exhaust seal. I can see part of that exhaust ring is missing. Reminds me of old Cummins diesels had that same exhaust manifold system. I used common sense and I tried with a ¾ drive ratchet on the end of the vibration damper bolt to turn the engine over. It would not move.

Hope this gives you and idea about the engine condition, I am not trying to hide anything.

I apprecaite you looking at the engine and giving me a status. It is too bad about the intake manifold and carb. Those were my primary objectives to getting the engine complete. I received some quotes for the shipping, anywhere $750 and up

Sir, if it is still available I would Love the intake and carb, even in that condition.. it you want to sell the intake exhaust as a unit that's fine. I'll take it all for my 46 roadmaster thanks in advance, I'm in wva 26301, jon
