Riviera Transmissions

I'm looking for info on Riviera transmissions specifically what type they used etc. If I remember correctly didn't they use a THM-425? during the '70s? What did they use in the later models? I'm looking for info with the intent of using one to build a rear-engine, rear wheel drive Chevy S-10. Wish me luck

I believe the THM 425 is what was used in the front wheel drive Olds Toronados and the Cad Eldorados up til 1979 when they downsized. That was also the year that Rivieras became front wheel drive. I believe the new trans was a THM 325. In 1982 or 1983, they went to an overdrive trans. The pre 1979 transmission is definately a stronger transmission. Hope this helps. Good Luck
