I'm in need of a new rope cord for my 58 Buick Special #43. Ane idea where to source?

The rope you are referring to is called a "Robe Cord". It hangs on the front seat for the users of the back seat. I don't find anyone specifically offering it. You could approach a local auto upholstery shop and ask them what they can come up with. Many just use a rope or air line, or ? and have it covered with upholstery.
