Thought id post a few around here

If you are in the greater San Francisco eastbay area you may want to check these out. These are the ones I take my 1962 Skylark too.


1. Old Town Clayton, California has a Grafitti Night every wednesday. Main Street in old town clayton is shut down for everyone who wants to, to bring their classic cars out. Its free and open to the public. People start showing up around 4:40PM and the event last until ? ( Whenever ) ...Its sponsored by Skippolinis Pizza. Main street in Clayton has all the old buildings from the late 1800s and into the 1950s and has been left alone from development.


2. Every Friday Night Baja Fresh hosts a car show in their parking lot outside Sun Valley Shopping Mall in Concord, California- ( Interstate 680 @ Willow Pass Road ) . This event is completely unorginized. People just show up. Its free and open to anyone. The mexican fast food resturant gives out free soda. This starts around 4:30 PM and wraps up around 7: 00 PM. Its a free event so we usually get total rust buckets to the most detailed restorations.

* They are trying out a new spot along Concord Blvd. Its got more shade and the food is better. Dana Plaza .... theres a Chinese food resturant, Mexican food, Yogert and wide open grassy field also. Just this week it was tried out and will go on next week until a agreement is offically hammered out with the property owners.

3. Martinez California shuts down Main Street close to the County jail and has Grafitti night every Friday. Since it stays light until around 9:30 PM during the summer many people leave the Mall gathering at Sunvalley in Concord and go on to Martinez. This is hosted by Its put on by Main Street Martinez and they have a raffle, a DJ playing 50s and 60s songs as well as the main car/ Motorcycle show. Its free and open to anyone.

4. The Goodguys car show comes sum 6-8 times a year here. Everything from customs to classics are showcased at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California ( Interstate 680 @ Bernel Avenue offramp ) . The Goodguys Hot Rodders Association puts it on. Its a traveling show that goes across the USA all summer long. Theres a admission fee of $60 to show your car. The criteria only states you own a classic, so your car dosent need to be a custom or rod to be accepted. Newer cars that are customs are allowed. They have a " Car Corral " where you can sell your car, a swap meet in case your looking for parts and the main show itself. Muscle Cars will dot the landscape for the first time in the 24 year history of the West Coast Nationals presented by Flowmaster Mufflers as rods, customs, classics and muscle cars from over 15 states converge on Pleasanton August 27, 28 & 29. The next date for the show. Muscle cars and street machines are a large part of all Goodguys events and with the welcome mat being extended to them for the first time at the West Coast Nationals. 5. Saturday August 14 is the lee Hawelll Classic car shiow and Motorcycle exhibit at Crossroads Church ( 5353 Concord Blvd ) here in Concord, California. Its free and open to the public. The show starts at 5:30 PM and goes until after sunset. They will have 50s and 60s music playing, free food and a water play area for kids. There is a raffle for a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883. Buy a raffle ticket for 50 dollars and you mihght go home with a brand new Harley-Davidson. Its completely unrelated to any religious inclinations. The 50 raffle money will go to New Day For Children which is a non profit school providing hope and security for girls 18 years old and younger rescued from sexual slavery/ prostution both in the USA and worldwide. 6. The city of Clayton in Clayton , California will hold its 7th annual Labor Day car show on September 4th. Its free and open to anyone. Along Main Street in old town Clayton will be classics of all years, customs, restos, forign and muscle cars. Trophies will be given for many catagories. Day of Car regrestorations will be from 7-9 AM. The first 300 cars to regester onl;ine will be given a goody bag, dash plaque and a T-Shirt. It will fill up fast so regester early. If you dont youll put your ride way out there.
