Originals DID NOT retract fully.
You will have to do with a universal antenna.

If you are still in need of antenna help, contact Barney Eaton, barneyeaton1@gmail.com. He rebuilds 63-80 Buick power antennas and he may be have what you need for your 62.

I found Mr. Eaton's name on this forum. I sent him two non-working antennas and he was able to make one good one. Thank you for suggesting that.
