Project Car

General Information

My father-in-law and I are working on this with the plan that as my son grows older, we will teach him how to fix it and later drive it. Any and all help is appreciated.

I had a 63 buick garaged for several years, it had all new fluids when it got stored away. Time flew, I lost track of time. So, I went to drive it one day, made 180-degree spin upon braking from a car that cut me off. Brakes locked up on one side. The brake fluid absorbed moisture; corroded wheel cylinder closest to master. I had already driven the vehicle for 30 miles and no braking issues gave any indication something wasn't right. It wasn't until this panic braking that it showed wasn't working correctly. I did a hard brake on empty street afterward and it was very evident, pulling to one side.

I suggest you change brake fluid every so often even if you don't drive it.
