Hi There!

I am a new member. My name is Tony. I bought a 68 Skylark 350-2 last year and wanted to get the VIN and engine decoded.

The VIN is 444378H353730,
Cowl tag is ST 68-44437FL1 307239 Body, TR 133 T-8 Paint,
Engine number is 48D102055.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Tony

My first car - 68 Skylark T-Desert Beige with avacado convertible top. even in 1976 when I replaced the top it was
an expensive job (for a high school student )
Is your car one I have seen advertised - I saw a nice one for sale for a while.IMG_0196 (2).JPG

Hi Ted,

I did have my car for sale last year for a brief time. I’d like to put it back up for sale and upgrade to a GS, but don’t think I’ll get what I want for it.

Some references show it as 1970, some as 1968-1971 (http://www.buickgod.com/article/3243.html). The casting number is not the best way to identify a Buick engine as Buick casting numbers are notoriously fickle. The engine production code would be better. Here is where to find it:

Here is a list of the engine production codes:

Thank you! That is good information to know / have.
