What all has to be removed to get the Sonomatic AM radio out of the dash? Any details would be appreciated. Thank you.

Section 11-3 of the Chassis Manual covers Radio removal and installation.

I glanced through at the instructions and while I haven't removed the radio from a '63 Riviera, on many cars you will want to remove the glove box for improved access.

No need to remove the glovebox.
Remove radio knobs.
" 5.8ths, nuts that hold the face plate to radio.
" ashtray & trim.
Reach under radio & remove 7/16ths. bolts on bottom of radio. MAYBE 1/2"???
Slide out radio & dis-connect wiring & antenna.
Reverse procedure to re-install.
This is IF memory is correct.

Also, disconnect the battery from the car when working under the dash. You never know the condition of 50/60-year-old wiring, and you don't want to risk a short circuit if the insulation has failed on a wire. Only takes a few minutes to be cautious.
