consider this a placeholder as newsstand copy for the current issue isn't posted online. article is only 2 pages but they swapped in a 5.9L Cummins and boosted to 600hp and 1300lbft. hauls the 1/4 in <12 sec and gets 28mpg.
they seem kind of amazed that the stock rear end ( which for a 73 should still be the 9 3/8s ) can hold the power but this is a textbook application of where you would want the highway gearing which is usually found in these rears.
