Canadian California GS

Hello, and thanks for allowing me to join. I'm Rod from Columbia South Carolina. I recently purchased a '69 Skylark GS California. Unfortunately it's a roller but a project that I'm ready to take on. I was surprised when I saw the trim tag, MADE IN CANADA!! Does anyone know how many GS California's were produced in the Canadian plant? Thanks for the help. I look forward to the help & info in this forum!!

Rod,
According to this old thread, only 59 were built in Canada!

I saw that thread during a Google search, which is what made me join. There seems to be a lot of knowledge here. I want to make sure I do right by this car. I've had a few Buicks that I didn't hold onto but I think this one may be special enough to keep..no pun intended. Now I wonder how many were made in Twilight Blue? I bought the car from a man who bought it from an estate sale in Kentucky. It still has the tag, last registered in '89. It's was in a garage then until he purchased it. No drivetrain but otherwise complete.

I was told a few years ago, that you can expect that there might be a 10% survival rate related to original production numbers. That means you may have 1 of maybe 6 in existence!

That would be pretty awesome! I'm hoping I can dig deeper into the production numbers. It's a shame the drivetrain is gone but hopefully I can find a year correct one even if it's not numbers matching. I had a line on a 430/400 combo before I purchased the car but now I'm not sure that's the route to go..
