codes for stalling come up ignition module and crank position sensor, are both necessary? if I try one first which should I try ?

car is 92 Century 3.3 v-6

does it die or just skip a beat and then continue running? if it ceases running, chances are the crank sensor is dead and that is where you should start.
if it continues running, it could still be the crank sensor. but additionally, the ignition module or one of the coil packs could be setting a code.
