Drive-in

:shield: I thought there are a lot of people wondering where to go on the weekend with their car. If we share that cool drive-in location, others who may not have heard of it, or are passing through the area may have the opportunity to stop.
:beers:
If you have a favorite spot to grab a pizza and beer on a Sunday afternoon, post it! Along with the times you like to be there...
You never know what might drive in the lot! :bana:

Willy's drive in, Calgary. Every Wedensday they have a car night where people come by with their classic, Mussle, and generally nice cars. There's alot of GTO's, Chevelle's, Nova's, 55 Chev's, and a couple buicks (Skylarks and Wildcats). As well as custom cars that people built, like Trucks running off of alcohol.

Every night is a diffrent theme night at Willy's. They have bike nights and specialty truck nights as well. It's a good time and you get to talk to alot of car enthusists and street roders.

just thought i would add that there is a drive-in movie theater in Lamesa, Texas(inbetween lubbock and midland)(west texas). I think in may, several clubs (nm and west texas) converge at the drive-in(100 or so vehicles). Of course, the drive-in is open all summer for movie watching also. I think this drive-in was featured in texas monthly. if interested, email me and i can find out more about the drive-in and when the cars meet there.

there is also a drive in theatre in Dallas Oregon. not sure about any clubs that might use it as i just moved into the area myself.

There is a Drive-In Theatre here in Columbus Ohio, call the South High Drive-In. That is a great place to go and see first run movies, and that is even better, you get a double feature!

If you're ever up in Northern N.J., at the intersections of Routes 15 & 206 is Chatterboxes, a 50's style drive in that is really coming into it's own. Friday night is Bike night while Saturday nights are for cars. Good food, waitresses on rollerskates, relaxed atmosphere, and out in the country.

And if you're looking for a drive-in movie theatre, on the N.Y / N.J. border on Route 94 in Warwick N.Y. is the Warwick Drive-in. 3 screens showing the latest releases, grass lot, in the middle of farm country.

County red-neck saturday night in Nevada ,cruzin down the main drag pull up to some ricers with the loud boomers and drop down into 1St and pollute with my exaust tips just even with their door -- they speed up I speed up , they slow down ,I slow down. to me, my music is BEAUTIFFUL!!! BEN

Yes Dave, I know the area, I'm from Lake Hopatcong :)

Don't forget the Ledgewood Drive In at the Ledgewood circle where Rt 10 and US 46 meets, unless it is no longer open. I have not been there in decades....

Small world....

Jim.

Legdewood Drive-In has been gone over 15 years like the Newton Drive-In which is now going to be another Wall-Mart. Just a sign of the times. Speaking of cruise spots, the Bear Mountain Inn hosts one of the largest car and bike cruises in the area on Wednesday nights. Averages 1,000 cars and over 500 bikes. Located in Bear Mountain State Park off the Bear Mountain Parkway off exit 19. Definitely something to see and be a part of. Maybe we'll see you at Chatterbox's some Sat. night.

What's with the drive-ins? Are you guys reliving your teens? (How I wish I could . . .)

A great drive for anyone headed toward southwest Alabama is to take US 90 West to Theodore, then take the Bellengrath Road to Bellengrath Gardens, a world-reknowned huge tropical garden property developed by the man who brought the first Coca-Cola bottling plant to the Mobile area; you can spend a whole day at Bellengrath, but at south end of Bellengrath Road, a few miles beyond the gardens, is a excellent rustic seafood restaurant called Mary's. Mary, long dead now, was a huge black woman who cooked on a cast-iron pot-bellied stove right in the middle of the dining room, and put out the best seafood dishes in the county. They're still pretty darned good. Then head west from Mary's through Coden into Bayou La Batre, the fishing village made famous in Forrest Gump, where you'll want to meander along the bayou- and sound-front roads (including the one which loops back to Coden), and then take the roads from Bayo La Batre to Irvington, a little farther west on US 90 than you left it.

I've got several more suggestions for the Mobile area, if anyone's coming this way.

Out in Arizona A place people like to cruise at is the square at Downtown Prescott. Sometimes a few "hot" cars will get next to eachother at the lights, but most the cars are

ricers. So they usually wont try anything with me but its a fun place to hang at and talk to people.

I think those drive in things are cool and fun, but ive noticed some people come to these drive in's dressed up in 50's gear looking as homosexual as they come lol Better yet... i seen a group of older 20's individuals dressed up in 50's grear driving a 70's car, not very classic bye my standards. And whats the deal with people rolling up there pant leqs and dressing up like a 50's person driving a 78 cutlass or ect lol? Anyways if u live in dallas texas theres a few sonic drive in meet ups.. some in plano.. one in dallas off northwest highway and 35 . kc

This Evening I want to my usual show at Slater Park in Pawtucket, RI.

It's not a big show. It has it's usual participents of about 100.

Tonight there had to be 350 cars. More cars than Parking permits.

Tonight I saw 2 exquisite Buick Examples:

One was a Flawless Original 1937 Buick Roadmaster with Dual Side Mounts. There had to be 30 inches between the front & rear seats. There was a Brass Bar used as a foot reat in the rear seating compartment.

The other car was a 1948 Buick Roadmaster Convertable that was customized on a 1973 Riviera chassis and Drivetrain. 3way Burgandy, something very singular to behold! 455 with dual exhaust and power everything. all the creature comforts, all done up tastefully. Riding on a set of Kelsey-Hayes 40 Spoke Wire Wheels. A car to die for:!
