Residual Pressure Valve

I have a 1956 Buick Roadmaster.
I want to convert my front drum brakes to disc.
Willwood says that the residual pressure valve needs to
be removed to prevent front brake drag.

I have searched the manual to locate this valve with no luck.
Does anyone have more info on this or has anyone done this
conversion and left the valve>

ANYONE KNOW THE LOCATION OF THE VALVE???

I also forgot to mention that I live in BC, Canada and cannot find
any disc brakes conversion kits in Canada. They all come from the US.

The residual/check valve is located in the main bore of the master cylinder.
If you look at this '57 picture you will find it described only as a check valve:

If you are doing a conversion, I would think you should consider upgrading your original single chamber master cylinder to a double chamber. I haven't done it, but I am sure you can find one suitable for disc brakes.

The 56 is different than the 57.
I found the valve is in the proportioning unit which is separate
from the master cylinder.

Thanks for your reply.
