Stalling when letting go of gas pedal

Hi, I've got a 1994 BUICK PARK AVENUE V6-3800 3.8L, and it's stalling on me pretty frequently. The car seems to idle and accelerate fine. However, if I use the gas pedal, then once I take my foot off the pedal, the engine stalls. If I let it up slowly and carefully, or if I'm just driving slower, sometimes it won't stall, but the rpms will drop low and the lights will dim for a second before they go back up.

I've checked my PCV valve, replaced my spark plugs, and used some wire dryer, fuel line cleaner and gasline antifreeze.

At this point I took it to a mechanic. They cleaned the throttle body and mass air flow sensor. Didn't help, so I brought it back. They replaced the IAC motor. Still didn't do anything.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Did they check the computer for codes? It is an OBD-I car, but the shop still should be able to read codes.

They don't give the answer, but they will provide clues.

I know that they checked the computer. They didn't tell me exactly what it told them, but I assume if it told them anything then they took care of it.

I don't know for sure if they checked the throttle position sensor, but I would guess that if they cleaned the throttle body then they would have checked that as well? But I could very much be wrong.

Somebody suggested to me that it could be the EGR Valve and said to seal off the vacuum hose and see if it fixes the problem to tell whether or not it is the EGR Valve. I can't simply unplug the hose though, it's a linear EGR valve and the hoses are solid and built in. Is there a safe way that I could plug these off temporarily, just to drive the car up and down the street a couple of times and determine if that's the issue?

You could remove the EGR valve and tape off the EGR intake port and see if the car will idle . HTH
