Turn Signal Help

While working on replacing the wiring harness of our '46 Roadmaster, we noticed that one turn signal had stripped wires and we need to either get into it to replace the wires or (please no) replace the whole part. Alongside that, we need new a new gasket as shown as well as a gasket for the lamp. We could grind out the rivets and get into the part but before doing so, thought we'd ask here for advice if anyone had any.

Similarly, we are having a hard time finding good sites/catalogs for parts. We have already been looking through Kantor and are looking for more resources if there are any. Thanks in advance!

Try Fusick.com or Oldbuickparts.com.
I try to make most of my gaskets ad you can buy many different materials.

Here is a parts breakdown of the parking lamp from the Buick Parts Catalogue. Going by this drawing, the socket is removable from the body.

The gasket is GM part no 5935956. This part no was used in numerous GM parking lamps and backup lamps of the time (see list in attached ad). Reproduction gaskets show up in the Steele Rubber catalog and in the Rubber the Right Way catalog among others.

The pad is GM part no 1328935. The seal is no 1328937. These did not turn up in a brief online search and may have to be made from scratch as Lucky notes above.

To make gaskets it requires use of an exacto knife. Wear gloves, that one sharp blade tip will get you. Anyways, just takes patience to refurbish these parts or just to look for them. Digital Micrometer is most helpful to restoring a vehicle, so no guessing on measurements. I've made so many gaskets to that I have a box of cork, urethane, rubber, fuel and oil paper gasket material, and other materials.
