Can anybody tell me of a modern crossover for the '50 Special (248) water pump pulley? Mine is cracked. I don't think it can handle the stress of an alternator.

I have a '41 dual carb manifold to go on my '50 248 (Special). Can I use 2 of the stock '50 carbs? Or is this too much? If so what alternatives do I have? If not what adjustments do I need to do (mixture, jets...). Thanks, Mark

Well after a year, I've finally got my 50 special started and running. Now the only problem I have (at this point!) is that the torque converter is leaking at the seam! This is a bolt together converter and my manual is telling me to torque the bolts to 30-35 ft/lbs. As soon as I get to 25 lbs...

Does anyone have a picture of a straight 8 with the valve cover off? I'm trying to piece together a 1950 248. The manual shows an oil tube going to the top of the #1 rocker support, but the picture is not very clear. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark
