50 Buick Door HAndles

Hello,
Someone is bound to know how to remove the door crank handles. I see the is a spring wrap around, however I do not want to break it. Any help?

Many people just push them off with a screwdriver or, but there is a special tool to aid in their removal. Your parts store will have one. They just wrap around the shaft and sit into a couple of holes.

I have all the tools made for this type of retainer but on my 52 and 53 Buicks I found they wouldn't work. I took a small screwdriver made to clip in your pocket and ground the tip to a point that was flat on one side then by using another larger screwdriver to hold the handle back I carefully removed each spring. You might lose the clips so stop by an upholstery supply store and buy some extras as they are available in all sizes.
