Watch for a magazine named 'Hometown Hot Rod' which should hit the newstands sometime this month. In it is an article I wrote about the trials and tribulations of putting an Olds Rocket V-8 into a 1949 Pontiac, which I did way back in the late fifties. This was before the advent of all of these kits, instruction manuals, etc. when one had to do everything on a hit-or-miss basis. What isn't mentioned in the article is the fact that I was working for a manufacturing facility (a perk that a lot of folks don't have)that could help with some of the crude fabrication involved (such as exhaust manifold changes). It will give you an idea of what's involved with an engine swap from scratch.:clonk:
Jyrki,s site here has the info on adapting a chevy 4 speed transmission to the large series Straight 8, which is close to the 248 mounting. You will need to make some measurements. anybody else here mounted a 248 to a muncie check it out.
