Engine identification

Where do I find the numbers on a buick straight 8 so I can find out what year and how big it is. It was put on a ranger frame with a three speed Saginaw topped of with a 52 mack body chopped

If the head is longer than 32", you have the big dawg, a 320. On the 248, the engine number is on a boss below the side cover, on the right (distributor) side. The number boss on the 263 is similar, but closer to the distributor. I don't have a 320, but I'd look in the same area for the number.

My experience has been that the serial number of the larger series engines is stamped just aft of the distributor and the smaller engines just forward of the distributor. (Engine Serial Numbers, of course!)

Well... it is more than just promoting the website. I would also like to think we are promoting the car hobby too. Maybe just wishful thinking, but it still seems worthwhile.
