seat belt light

I have a 85 La Sabre collectors edition. Even though the seat belt is firmly fastened, the light keeps coming on. Sometimes it's just a flicker, other times it seems to start dim and get really bright. I've tried wiggling the buckle but it doesn't seem to affect it. Any idea's. Thank's. Cal
 
I'm not real sure but if you unplug the wire connector at the base of the seat belt (female end) on the floor the light might go off. There may be one for the drivers and the passengers seat belt. It could also be power feeding through another system from a short somewhere. Good luck.
