    Trying to ID a 1940's frame.

    My 1940 shop manual says "The frame serial plate , which is also the car serial number, is attached to the right upper flange of the frame near the dash.This plate is visible by lifting the hood." First, which side is the "right" side? Port or starboard? Second what does the "flange" look like...

    Tranny

    I've searched for a thread on this and can't find it. So here's a dumb question. Do you really have to pull the motor and tranny or else take the rear end completely loose just to pull the tranny? Oh, sorry. On a '40 Special.:confused:

    Stinkin' carb

    I bought a rebuild kit for my Stromburg from Cars Inc. and the car runs great. But when I shut it off the whole garage smells like raw gas for days afterward.Its a 263. Anyone have an idea what could cause this? Cheers

    Well' it's smoking baby, but not ina good way.

    Hi I don't post on this forum very often , but I have a problem that I can't figure out. My 40'- 51' straight 8 smokes out the oil filler cap. Is that OK? Should I do something about it or is this normal?:D Thanks Todd

    Valve stuck
