I am looking for a set of .010 undersized connecting rod bearing inserts for 1952 263 straight eight. A fellow at Kanters told me that Plymouth 273-318 cid motors from late 60’s used the same specs and are readily available. Can anyone verify that info? Thanks!
I have a 52 Special also and have been looking off and on for a parts book on ebay etc for one but I’ve never seen one or downloadable. I found a genuine Buick shop manual and bought it and it’s handy.
I’m going to use 700R4 transmission with Bernstden adapter. The manifold logs are 2x4 square tube. 1/4 thick for the exhaust and 3/16” thick for the intake.
Here is a picture of my 263 project engine I have been working on for a few years. These are my home made intake and exhaust manifolds.
Std 4 barrel intake mount and turbo charged exhaust. Just ordered a set of J&E forged pistons to go inside.

What does it take to convert a hyd lifter engine to solid lifters? Lifters & pushrods? Do I need to change rocker arms as well? I am going to have the cam reground. Does the grind need to change? Thanks!

I am taking my 263 apart. This car had auto trans so it has hydraulic lifters. The pushrods are hollow to feed the lifters. Do the solid lifter cars have solid pushrods? Also these rocker arm adjusting screws are drilled to oil the pushrods. Are the adjusting screws different for solid lifters...
