72 GS 350 Cowl Tag decoder

Anyone know where I can find a cowl tag decoder or info to decode the following?

ST72 43467FL1 054687 BDY
TR 135 53 A PNT
10B A65

Also still looking for help locating engine serial number.

Norm, here's how the cowl plate decodes:
ST - style
72 - model year
4 - Buick Div.
34 - GS series
67 - convertible body
FL1 - Flint, Mich. assembly plant
054687 - body serial number
BDY - body

TR - trim
135 - white vinyl nothcback seat
53 - Cortez gold iridescent paint
A - white convertible top
PNT - paint

10B - build date code 10=October, B=2nd week of month
A65 - modular seat code (don't know how to id)

I guess if you car had a completely new replacement engine installed at one time, there would not be a serial number on the block???

Thank you for the info. Can you tell me what the engine serial number should be? I know the last 6 digits are the same as the last six of the vin.
I still have some more cleaning to do who knows maybe I will find it.

Norm, for a 72 Buick engine, it should be in the form of 2H100001. 2=last digit of model year. H=Flint, Mich. plant. This plant letter can be different from the assy. plant code character in the VIN. Then the 100001 is the same as the last 6 digits in the VIN as you said. These 6 digits will not match those in the body serial number (045687).

There could be a 4 in front of these 8 characters also. This identfier signifies the engine was built by the Buick div. This digit is useful if, say the engine was original equipment in an Oldsmobile. The 4 prefix tells the mechanic he or she has a Buick 350 and not an Olds, Pontiac, or Chevy 350.
