i want to convert drums to disc brakes and i was interested to know what year car i could use to convert the brake system.help anyone

Hope this helps... I put 1970 disc brakes on my 1968 Wildcat (which already had the dreaded 4 piston Bendix units). What you need to know is one simple thing: is the 70 spindle the same part as your spindle? If it is then what you need to get is a 1970 full sized Buick disc brake system. You will need the master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve, spindles, backing plates, attachment hardware, flexible lines, rotors and calipers. You will have to swap out the spindles. OK? Get rebuilt parts wherever you can. Parts for 70s are relatively plentiful.

They don't list a conversion kit for the big Buicks. Only for Skylarks.

The big question is why do you want to change over to disc brakes? The 12 inch Buick drums are good enough to stop a freight train.
