Preservation of Trunk Jack Instructions

I don't think having the dried out shrunken and fragmented original sticker as opposed to a repro is going to effect the value of your car in any way.

I agree the 60 year old parts are going to be more authentic. You can see in the detail some reproductions are not as good. Made in china, always going to be, "it works!" according to reviews. I got decals for my car, come find out were the wrong one by minor detail.

You could make a scan on your 4 in 1 printer under photo and see if its the same. Load the image on USB and get staples or office depot to print you a copy. Will be better than your printer. You could clean up the image in paint too.

If you just want to save it, use a hair dryer prior to attempting to remove it, shop heat gun you can go too high on heat. On removal select material to transfer it on. Also, you can clear tape over and under it. If you want to clean it with a cotton swab tab it on a test area with your solution of choice yet it will come with risks. Just do practice on tape so you dont get bubbles. Also practice tape side by side in case tape isnt wide enough.

There is some ways to save this sticker like apply a very tin layer of clear wood glue on it, they are white but will become transparent when dry or you can use some very small amount of universal glue behind parts that came out but such works are precise and you should know how to restore papers, I have done some book restoration before so it is easy for me but I don`t know it will be easy for you of not. first apply those materials on something else than after learn how to deal with then apply it on the sticker. but I think it doesn`t worth. you can buy a new one same as what is on the car or if you like originality just leave it alone as what it is.
