PROBLEMS

I have a 1989 Regal GS and the service engine light is on and all the coolant fans are constantly running. The code is reading 15. It is telling me that the coolant senosr is bad but that is not possible because I just replaced it yesterday. I replaced the engine and the coolant sensors both. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One reason why fighting problems with computers can be annoying.

For example if the wire to the sensor is bad, the computer will just say that the sensor is bad when it's actually the wiring. Maybe a ground, or a plug, or who knows. (Did you plug it back in securely?)

Actually, the temp sensors seem to be quite reliable in those.

And, don't forget that it's possible to have purchased a faulty sensor...

And are you sure you replaced the correct sensor? Maybe it meant the air temp sensor instead of the coolant temp sensor or something goofy like that...

Thank you for your help!! I'll check to make sure everything is pluged back in. The book is telling my that it is the coolant sensor that is bad, but I will replace the air sensor you recommended.

Brandon-

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that I thought the ATS was the problem. I just wanted you to make sure that the error code you are chasing was the "CTS" (coolant temp sensor), not the "ATS" (air temp sensor), especially if the error code just came up with "temp sensor"...
