Underside color of hood - medium blue or black?

Is it possible that the underside color of the hood on my 1968 GS400 was a medium blue which is the color it was when I got the car? Restoration shop thinks it should be black.

Asked this question myself on the V8 forum. Answer is black specifically, hot rod black. (kind of satin).

That is correct for the firewall too, and was the way my car was. I find it "dull", so my firewall and under hood match my body color. I think it looks a lot nicer under there Guess that make me a rebel.

I noticed over the years that Canadian built a-bodys, that firewall was body color ?

I made this mistake of painting under the hood black on my car, trunk, cargo area, etc. But, it wasn't like this factory. I cant see anything most times. Going with painting over so some light reflection i can find things.
