The stainless trim that goes along the side of the vehicle is secured with nylon retainers. These retainers have seals that minimize the water entering the vehicle at the doors. There are drains at the bottom of the door, but water can still cause a problem. At the quarter panels the retainers have seals that keep the water from entering into the trunk area which pools in the left and right pockets. Inspection of the trunk area after car wash you can find water trails inside of the trunk side walls should the seals fail.
You can get the retainers from sellers but they do not have seals. I'm selling these seals each for $1. per piece. The pic shows some of the quantity but there is more. Shipping cost we just have to see, I will attempt least cost first and other methods second. It takes about 4 for fenders and 4 for doors and the quarter panels are about 7 each section. ~1/4" x 9/16" OD. You can find these on any pic where the trim was removed, they usually are left sticking onto the side of the vehicle. In the image there is an original 60 year old part with the new ones.
