I have a 67 skylark and am replacing the signal switch in the column. I have ordered the switch that is supposed to be the rignt one but it does not fit. It is too tight to fit in the cup. Do I have the wrong one? I read where some are red and some are white. Mine had the white one and thats...
I have a 67 skylark with a 4 speed shifter and I am looking for the boot for the short console with knee knocker tach. Is this a 2 piece unit and where can I get them.
Thanks
Dave
Hey guys. I'm converting my auto column to a 4 speed. I saved the 4 speed cup but not sure if it will fit the auto column or how to change it. Just want to get rid of that knobby part where the auto shifter handle was. Any ideas.
Thanks
Dave
I am trying to drill holes for the fake hood scoops on a Skylark hood to use on my GS 400. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the measurements for the holes. I dont have the old hood and thought I wrote them down but you know how that goes.
Thanks
Dave
Anyone recommend a disc brake conversion that is not chinese. I also wondered what size drums were on the rear of my stock GS. Backing plates are MIA.
Thanks
Dave
Hi all,
Been off the site for a couple years, glad to be back. Finally retired so I can get to my 67 GS resto. Got her down to a bare frame. I would like to convert to 4 wheel disc brakes but not sure I want to spend the cash for the fancy Wilwood system. I was thinking that early 70's Camaro...
I am cloning my 67 GS with a Califonia Skylark. Outside of the box frame is there any difference in front or rear suspension? It looks like the brakes are bigger on the old GS than the skylark. I will replace all the springs to handle the weight of the 400 and rebuild the suspension. I also...
4 speed
I am restoring my 67 GS and it is also a 4 speed. You may have an issue with the engine crank not being drilled for the 4 speed. I am not sure about Pontiac. I do have an original shifter in working condition and I am not planning on using it. I picked up a Hurst Competion Plus for it...
Thanks rcull,
I was thinking about 16x7 with 50 series tires since I already have a nice set of 16" Comp TA's. With 50's series tires the ride height ought to be about the same. I need to see if they are wider or not.
Thanks,
Dave
Trying to decide on wheel and tire upgrades to my 67 GS. It came with 14x6 rims. I would like to go wider and maybe 16 or 17 but would at the same time not like to go taller. I am replacing all my springs also but most kits want to drop the car another inch. I know the lower the center of...
I bought back my old 67 GS numbers matching 400-4 speed car. I also bought a 67 Skylark off the original owner out of California. I was going to use the Skylark to clone my GS as the body is very bad. The only problem is a friend of mine told me it would almost be a shame to bone out the...
