Does anybody have a tech site that will give data such as: year, model, width, and back spacing on late 30's to late 50's 16 inch wheels in a 5 on 5 inch lug pattern?

I know 38 Buick Specials have 16 x 5 inch, 5 on 5 inch lug, wheels. Not sure of their backspacing. Believe 41 Plymouth and mid 50's 75 series Caddys were 16 inch with 5 on 5 lugs as well.

Thanks! John

This site has tire size and wheel bolt pattern info for most cars back to 1930. No backspacing info, though.

For the years you are asking about, the 5 on 5" bolt pattern was used pretty much on GM (except Chev) and Packard only. Mopar didn't use it before the late 60s, and then only on Imperials. Lincoln and Mercury used 5 on 5" starting in the mid 50s, but those wheels were all 14" or 15".

If you want to swap Olds, Pont or Cad wheels onto a Buick, check the center hole size before you lay down your money. Also, most other GM wheels normally won't have the holes for the Buick locating pins. You can still use them, but you will have to remove the pins or drill the wheels first.
