Hi there,
Anyone know how to remove the top plastic piece where the the shift indicator and shifter is on the console. Trying to get to the 2 screws behind it to remove the center console completely.

I have looked in the '67 body manual and a couple of parts books and didn't find anything, not even a picture. It is probably going to be some squeeze and pry locks, but with an old consul, things can be pretty brittle and prone to breaking so it would be nice to have some idea where they are. When you find them please post the "how to".

Good Luck!

Thanks for your response! I was messing with it over the weekend and popped the indicator window off. Now going to see if there's any clip under it. I'll let you know.

I asked the same question about 20 years ago. I think it had something to do with a pin in the back end of the shifter slot that had to be pressed. It was easy once I found out how. The old mind doesn't work as well as it used to. Good luck, but give that area a good look

Wow.... after about a month messing with it not trying to break anything it worked.
!! Thanks, that was it! Couldn't believe I missed it and didn't see that. It's very small and easy to miss. Appreciate your help! I finally get to clean the floors!
