1998 century EGR valve periodic sticking

My 98 Century engine service light comes on periodically, and the indication is the EGR valve sticking. Is there something out there that can free it up and clean it out, or is the only long term solution to replace, and if the answer is to replace, anything specific to watch out for? Thanks

You can remove the EGR valve and clean the valve end with carb. spray cleaner and a small screw driver to scrape the carbon off ( donot bend or damage valve ).
You will need a new EGR gasket and clean the intake inlet port of the EGR base ( carb cleaner and stiff wire ) . The intake side can clog up and cause a EGR code to set so besure to clean this . HTH
:beers:
