My Skylark has a tired 300 V8 with and even more weary 300 2spd trans. I've been told the engine has no potential for perfomance and has problems with oil preasure and should be upgraded to a Chev 350. As for the 300 trans I would like to change up with something like a TH350/TH400. My question in what whould be the "easiest" improvement in both departments. I don't mind the 300V8 but the trans has to go. I'm new to this and would probably be taking it to the shop for most of it. Thanks

Leo,

The Buick 350 engine and Buick, Olds, Pontiac (BOP) TH 350 transmission are a direct bolt in for the 300 engine ST 300 combination you have. They use the same brackets, motor mounts and driveshaft. There is no easier swap for that engine, and 350 engine parts are readily available. You could also just swap in the ST 350 trans behind your 300 if you want to do this in affordable stages. Hope that helps, and there is no need to

youself.

Thank you I'll take your advise to heart. But I am unfamilur with the term ST 350. Is that "switch pitch" or short shaft or something? Thank you again.

The TH 350, is there differences in the length of shafts ( short shaft or long shaft )? What should I look for when I got looking in my local yard?
And does it have to come out of a B.O.P car?
