I am rebuilding a 350 small block. I understand there are modifications that are recommended to be made to the lubrication system. Does anyone have what the recommendations are for the buck 350?
When I purchased my 1971 Buick GS convertible almost 16 years ago, I knew I had found my dream car. Spending the $4,000 asking price was also a big step as that was pretty much all the money I had …
Rebuilding my 350. Called TA performance and they told me I could open up the core line from the screen to the oil pump to 9/16. Right now the line is 7/16 and the recommendation I have seen up till now have all been 1/2. Don't want to screw-up a good block will dive into the recommended articles. Thanks again
I have done that many times on a 455. If you are rebuilding at a stock level, even no opening up oil passages is acceptable. And as soon as you consider going to a performance level, any increase is a benefit. Going to limits is not always necessary. Before drilling, carefully look at the hole in the block and examine it for how centrally located in the casting it appears. Should you notice it offset, you may want to make a decision to use a smaller hole.
Always remember, in stock trim, all these motors went a long ways just fine.
