Buick Logo-tri shield variations

I've got two 1960 Buick LeSabres. The 4 door flat top no post car has one type of tri-shield emblem on the trunk and the convertible has another. The hard top is the more traditional badge, a tri shield with 'normal' stag heads, BUT, the convertible has very modern looking very stylized stag heads in the tri shield that almost look like neckties. Are they both period correct for 1960? Does one car have an earlier tri shield on it?

Most Buick parts books show the trunk emblem (used on non-wagon LeSabres and Invictas) is a part no 1193359. This is the same part number for the radiator grille ornament emblem used on the front of all '60 Buicks.

One book has an obscure notation for the trunk lid part showing that the 1193359 supercedes part no 1196054. That would indicate the 1196054 is an early version of the emblem.

These are one year only parts, so the factory was not using up leftover parts from previous models. My guess is someone had an idea to standardize the front and rear pieces for cost savings. Or factory ran low on the original trunk emblems and subbed the front emblems already in stock. The trunk emblem that matches the front grille emblem would be the late version part.

It would be interesting to see if the build week on the body data plates correlates with the early/late emblems.
