Glass jar

Hello,
Recieved my 56' today and opened the hood and loved the condition of the motor. The question I have is my eyes gandered around the engine compartment and there is a glss jar with looks like vacuum hose fittings on the top help in by a metal braket. What is this mason jar and why is it under the hood of my car?

Hello, I am new to this site could someone please tell how to use it. I am really not that stupid:clonk: ,but I can't seem to figure out how to post a thread or whatever its called. Please forgive me for doing it this way but I am lost with this. I couldn't even find how to chat. The glass jar is for the windshield washers and is normally missing so your in luck if yours is there.
