how different are the core supports from 68/69 to a 70-72 core support?

I cant tell exactly, but could i use the good headlight section from my 68 support on a later model larks support to work in a 68?

just brainstorming some cheap alternitives to hunting down the overly expensive 68/69 skylark parts

Hi thanks for the help! i'll ask a local pipe shop if they can do the welding.
I was thinking of using more up dated square headlights instead of the round ones.But not sure of the clearance when they roll up under the hood.
