Power steering fluid level

What is the correct fluid level in the old round pump in my 66 Skylark? There is no fill mark. The cap has no level mark. The cap states do not over fill. Any ideas how how far down from the top it should be? I installed a new quick ratio box and drained all the fluid from the pump. Now I want to refill it, but not to over fill it, but don't know the exact level. I have put some fluid in and turned the steering box lock to lock to get the air out of the new box. Thanks for your help with this.

I had a look at a '66 340, no dipstick! I see the concern. The capacity is listed as 1 1/4 quarts of oil. That is a good place to start. Then if the pump gear is below the oil level, fire it up and run it lock to lock. Recheck to ensure that the pump gear is covered with oil or add the rest of the 1-1/4 quarts and if it is covered, take it for a spin and warm it up. Note the oil level warm. I would try to keep the warm level below the housing neck.

There are probably some instruction in the service manual, but I must have missed them:(
